In recent years, media news outlet Fox News has come under harsh criticism not just for their reporting but from internal conflicts. Namely, shocking allegations were revealed about sexual harassment by men in the company where the female staff had to fight back by the powerful Roger Ailes. You may have already seen the Roger Ailes story this year with the Showtime miniseries “The Loudest Voice” but the Ailes scandal is about to get an all-star movie treatment with an astounding cast.
“Bombshell” will feature Charlize Theron and Nicole Kidman as Megyn Kelly and Gretchen Carlson, the Fox News anchors that had to start a tough battle at a network against them. Margot Robbie will be playing Kayla Pospisil, a Fox News associate producer. As for Ailes himself, that role will be played by John Lithgow. The trailer released does a great job showcasing the uneasy and unspoken tension within the company while the three women share an elevator. It’s amazing to see all three women melt into these roles just on how much they look the part; I still can’t believe it’s Theron in that elevator. The tension builds greatly and with the ending shot of the Fox News logo as Megyn and Gretchen exit the elevator, it’s a brilliant bit of editing to let the audience know what this is all about.
Check out the trailer below to see how astonishing Theron, Kidman, and Robbie look in the same room and read the synopsis.
