As we near closer to Christmas, there’s a lot of buzz brewing about the third and final chapter of the latest “Star Wars” film. Or the ninth entry of the on-going story if you’re keeping score at home. Or the 12th “Star Wars” theatrical film if you really wanna be that guy. We’ve seen some trailers teasing the next entry and now we have even more info with the final trailer for the film. And there’s a lot packed into this one.
“The Rise of the Skywalker” trailer showcases a lot of what we’ve come to expect from the format of “Star Wars” trailers thus far. We have lots of inspirational voiceover from the heroes and telling provocation from the villains who will oppose them. We have plenty of shots of our characters either embracing each other or heading off into battle. And, as a feast for the eyes, there are plenty of action shots of starships in battle. A lot of ships. A whole mess of ships. After all, this is seemingly the final entry for the tale of Rei, Poe, Finn and Kylo Ren. As we’ve seen with the previous two trilogies, there’s been a guarantee of grand-scale battles where starships litter the screen. The ninth film is keeping that tradition alive and well.
But enough talk! Had at the final trailer below and get an eye-full of what we’re talking about. Or don’t and go into the film cold. Your call.
“Star Wars: The Rise of the Skywalker” will be heading into theaters everywhere on December 20th, 2019. And if you’re planning on seeing it that day, you better be getting your tickets right now as there are already people lining up online to grab their seats.
