Shoplifters Items Of Choice These Days

As consumers, we are pretty much hip to the fact that shoplifting goes on almost every hours, of every day somewhere in the United States.  However, what most of us may not know are the most common items that are stolen, by shoplifters.  Take a look below and you will most probably be surprised by one or two of them.

Most stores keep them behind the counter because there are so many stolen.  However, even though they are behind the counter, where there is a will, there is a way and they do get stolen.  In fact, according to a recent report by Clark, cigarettes are the most stolen item there is.  So, the question is, how do they do it?

Energy Drinks

Here is one of those strange items I mentioned earlier.  With the world going crazy over energy boosting drinks as well as such a wide variety of flavors to choose from, including Red Bull, Monster, and Rockstar, it is no wonder they are the favorite amongst shoplifters.

OTC Items

Maybe it is the rising health costs, but there has been a recent increase in shoplifting of items such as Advil, Claritin as well as the various weight loss drugs.  However, there are a couple other items that are stolen just as often—teeth whitening trips and pregnancy tests.  Can you believe it?

Yep, you heard me right—spices.  Now this one at first threw me for a loop, but in all honesty if you take a look at the skyrocketing cost of spices these day, then you can pretty much see why they are favored amongst shoplifters.  Plus, factor in how small the containers the spices are sold in, and you hav a recipe for disaster.

Yep, this one blows my mind.  It would seem that famous football player Jameis Winston isn’t the only one out there that feels the need to shoplift this pungently aromatic item.  I don’t know about you, but how do they figure they will succeed with that smell following them all the time?

To be honest, it would seem people will try to steal just about anything these days.  I guess everyone needs something, and if they can get it for free they most assuredly will.
