Ice cream is definitely the most beloved dessert to partake in during the sweltering summer months, and every so often a completely comtroversial ice cream flavor choice emerges and starts a debate. After the unexpected announcement of mustard ice cream by popular brand French’s, another brand is hitting back with its own summer ice cream flavor.
Hot dog maker Oscar Mayer recently unveiled their plan to introduce the “ice dog,” which is basiclaly hot dog ice cream. What is hot dog ice cream? It’s hot dog flavored ice cream with bits of hot dog cut up inside of it. Also, there is a yellow spicy mustard flavor inside the ice dog as well, which is distinguishable by its yellow color.
In a press release, the new ice dog is described as a ‘“cookie bun stuffed with both “spicy Dijon gelato” and “hot dog sweet cream,” the latter of which contains “candied hot dog bits.’”
All of this is sandwiched in between two bun flavored cookie wafers, so the entire ice dog experience is just like eating a real hot dog, but just very cold. Oscar Mayer introduced the new ice cream creation through the following social media post:
“Who eats just mustard @Frenchs? Condiments were made for Oscar Mayer hot dogs. Say hello to the Oscar Mayer Ice Dog Sandwich – flavored ice cream, made with our better hot dogs, sandwiched with spicy mustard. Do you want to try this? Coming in August #OscarMayerIceCream”
I addition, anyone willing to try to the new ice dog in the New York City area is in luck, since the Wienermobile will be in the area during the week of August 12 to promote the new ice dog. There is no official retail price for this ice dog or any indication of how long this new ice cream creation will be available to consumers.
