October is nearly here, and that means it’s time to get spooky! Break out the pumpkins, skulls, witches, and all other types of food and decor inspired by Halloween. It’s time for haunted hay rides, haunted houses, and Halloween parties to become the entertaining excursions for the next month.
The following is a list of the most popular haunted houses in the NYC area for the 2019 season, so make sure you check them out. They are all in different parts of the city and have their own interesting history and attraction.
I Can’t See
This is a horror experience like no other, as the customer is masked in total darkness, only relying upon their ears and touch to navigate their way through. You actually wear audio headsets to enhance the experience. According to the website and I Can’t See creator Timothy Haskell, “We’ve experimented with horror and audience immersion for 20 years now.” This haunted house in is Manhattan and will be open from September 25 to November 3.
Gravesend Inn Haunted Hotel
This haunted hotel is actually built completely from scratch each fall, and is filled with a bunch of high-tech surprises and scares which makes this experience completely unique. The experience is open from October 25-October 31, and tickets are just ten dollars, or five with a student ID. If you are in the Brooklyn area, you need to check it out!
You might recognize Blood Manor as one of the most well-known horror attractions in NYC, thanks to documented trips from Jimmy Fallon and Kevin Hart. This haunted house is open from October 4 to November 9 and ticket prices start at $35. With nearly 5,000 square feet of space, each inch is packed with crazy labyrinth hallways, puzzle spaces, and plenty of gore and screams to go around. In fact, children under 14 aren’t allowed unless accompanied by a guardian. If you’re in the Broadway area, you have to get your scares worth!
